Winter Fest Pop-Up Activity Micro Grants

Now is your chance to stand out this Winter Fest with a Micro Grant for your business or organization! In addition to the exciting activities at Centennial Park during Winter Fest on Family Day long weekend, the City of Fort St. John, and their partners, offer funding for local businesses and organizations to organize and host Pop-Up Activities across the community.

Are you part of a business or organization that can host an activity that would be perfect for Winter Fest? You could be eligible for a Micro Grant of up to $2,000 to help fund your event!

Hosting a Winter Fest activity is a great opportunity to gain exposure, introduce new people to your business or organization, and connect with the community. It's a chance to showcase your products or services, engage with customers, and show community pride. Plus, the micro grant funding could help reduce financial barriers and help bring fresh, creative ideas to life in a fun and engaging environment. Funded Winterfest Pop-Up Activities will be included in the official Winter Fest Schedule that will be featured on the City of Fort St. John website, social media, and printed posters.

Winter Fest Pop-Up Activity Micro Grants Application Form

Eligibility Requirements:  

Applicants must:  

1. Operate a business or nonprofit in the City of Fort St. John or surrounding areas (businesses/organizations must serve the Fort St John residents) and/or Hold a valid and current business license or non-profit number  

2. Must hold a minimum of 2 million liability insurance  

3. Be able to run their event/activity with no support from City staff Have staff/volunteers available throughout their events  

4. Adhere to all branding and marketing guidelines provided by the City Provide an overview of how funds will be spent towards the success of their event  

5. Be willing to display additional corporate sponsorship logos during your event  

6. Activities must be: Family Friendly Free Offered between February 14 to February 23, 2025

Pop-Up Event Micro Grants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:  

1. Community enrichment and connectedness within the City of Fort St John  
2. The ability to self-support your event/activity without City staff and/or resources  
3. Accessibility for all persons with or without mental, physical, financial, or who experience other barriers  
4. Proven examples of success hosting community event/activities  

Application Checklist:  

1. Completed Application, with authorized signature from your business/organization  
2. Copy of current copy of Liability Insurance  
3. Deadline: Apply online by January 7^th 2025
4. Economic Development staff will review each application and respond on or before January 30^th 2025.  
5. Funds aren’t released until AFTER the Feedback Report/Survey has been completed
