Update regarding the North Peace Cultural Centre

The Council of the City of Fort St. John and the Board of the North Peace Cultural Society have agreed to a mediation process to determine the next steps for the North Peace Cultural Centre. Together, Mayor Lori Ackerman and Board Chair Connie Surerus have issued the following joint statement.

“Following the 90-day cooling-off period, the City and the Society have agreed to a mediation process that will outline mutually agreed-upon outcomes that have the best interests of the community in mind. All facility user bookings and rentals will be honoured during this period, and we look forward to working together to further the arts and cultural fabric of our community.”

No further statements will be provided while the mediation process is ongoing.
