North Peace Arena to remain closed until 2021
October 19, 2020
With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing, many sport groups modifying their season schedules, and staffing shortages, the North Peace Arena will remain closed until the end of the year. The City of Fort St. John will continue to work with user groups to ensure their ice time needs are met.
“This year has presented several challenges as we adjust to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to move forward with our reopening plans, we must do so while ensuring the safety of our residents, users and staff,” stated Milo MacDonald, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Fort St. John.
With the continued operation of two of the three ice hockey surfaces, both in the Pomeroy Sport Centre, the City maintains over 70% of the ice rental space compared to the 2019 - 2020 season.
