City supports senior service providers
December 9, 2020
While everyone has felt the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, significant challenges have been realized by local seniors and their related service providers. Recognizing these challenges, the City of Fort St. John has engaged Urban Matters to conduct a gap analysis of services provided by local agencies and then create logistical efficiencies with these organizations to support our seniors better.
With funding from the BC Safe Restart Grant, Urban Matters will create actionable and tangible objectives to support local senior-focused agencies through the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure their sustainability post-pandemic.
“Through our conversations with various local agencies, we were made aware of the challenges that are causing further strain on already stretched resources. By working together, we will ensure our service providers are supported now and into the future. Our seniors built this community; it is the very least we could do.” stated Mayor Lori Ackerman.
