Old Fort Community Landslide Meeting Correction of Information

As a member municipality of the Peace River Regional District, the City of Fort St. John’s two regional director representatives attended the Old Fort Community Landslide Meeting on Monday, December 17. 

During that meeting, Westrek Geotechnical Services incorrectly identified areas as inside the City of Fort St. John, when in fact they are outside the City’s boundaries. On December 18, 2018, Westrek Geotechnical Services issued the following correction:
“Section 3, last paragraph: The source of the stormwater in the small creek draining into the earthflow is incorrectly attributed to the City of Fort St. John’s stormwater system. The upland drainage area is outside of the City of Fort St. John’s boundaries.”

The City of Fort St. John takes a planned and principled approach to decision making and has completed Transportation, Stormwater, and Liquid Waste master plans to guide future development.
