Water Connection Requests

The City does not permit anyone other than a City employee to shut off the water at the curb stop. If you require work to be done on the water line between the water shut-off valve at the water meter, and the curb stop at the street, you will need to contact the City’s Water Meter Technicians at 250-787-8013 or email Water Meter Techs in advance to request a water turn-off.

Non-Emergency Water Connection Requests

Turn-on or Turn-off water at a Curb Stop or Water Main during regular working hours and with 72 hours notice.

For a non-emergency request, please provide 72 hours' notice to the City’s Water Meter Technicians by completing the Water Connection Request Form, calling 250-787-8013 or email Water Meter Techs. The cost is $45 per operation of water turn-off or water turn-on.

Emergency or On-Demand Water Connection Requests

Turn-on or Turn-off water at a Curb Stop or Water Main outside regular working hours or without 72 hours notice.

For an emergency or on-demand request, contact the City’s Water Meter Technicians at 250-787-8013 or email Water Meter Techs. For after-hours service, call 250-787-8150 ext. 4. The cost is $250 per operation of water turn-off or water turn-on if the operation is completed within 3 hours, or $500 per operation of water turn-off or water turn-on if the operation takes longer than 3 hours.
